And how one woman made her friends wear aubergine bras for brunch
Lovely to read this update!
Four Thousand Weeks has been of one my faves this year, truly perspective-shifting.
Also, funny you did NSM! I've just registered for the 2nd cohort <3
Vee, the return of your newsletter was a welcomed surprise! I will carry that 'being a poem' vibe into my upcoming serendipitous break in Japan.
So glad you’re back! And I’m looking forward to more of these pockets of joy and observation this autumn
This was the reading I never knew I needed.
Your post is so timely. Whilst I currently cannot make space for a 'sabbatical' I am going on holiday tomorrow for 9 days and there is ample opportunity to get dragged back into my business. "Undivided attention" I will give to my body, my soul, my goddess who will be jumping from cliffs while I pick her up on my SUP in Crete, Greece. I aim to make this long week feel like a month via undivided attention and some time dilation practices...
So happy you're back, Victoria!! And on Substack, too, no less. Thank you for this evocative, sprawling exploration on Work, Flow and Rest. I've spent this year in various states of sabbatical, too, and it's been transformative to say the least 💐
I'm deeply inspired by your friend Paulina's "all but clothes" brunch. What beautiful use of her power as a Host to create an unforgettable experience with her guests! Priya Parker would be proud
P.S. I LOVED the line on being a poem! Will be carrying that with me for a long, long time.
